Check out the new Salomon FreeSki TV episode shot in Quebec with Charles Gagnier and Matt Walker. Salomon FreeSki Team rider, Matt Walker, just got an invite to this years Winter X-Games (John Symms’ EXPN Ski Blog). I am stoked to hear the news that he will have a chance to prove himself on that scale of competition. Matt Walker slays what ever feature you place in front of him (Watch Salomon FreeSki TV).
As a student at CU in Boulder Matt juggles skiing at Breckenridge, traveling the world and going to school. I don’t know what grades he gets so I will not speculate, but Matt is a great skier with a bright future ahead of him.

Salomon Freeski TV this week features Salomon’s Jib Academy in Mammoth Mountain. Salomon pulled out all of the stops and had the entire team on location to straight kill it. Sammy Carlson, Simon Dumont, Tom Ellington, John Symms, Seth Warner, Mike Douglas, Mark Abma, Charles Gagnier, and more Salomon Team Skiers show their love for being in front of the camera. Those crazy pro skiers sure know how to raise the bar of style.

The Verbier Extreme is widely regarded as the most prestigious Big Mountain freeskiing competition in the world. In 2008, it almost became the deadliest after a massive avalanche swept the Bec des Rosses during the competition inspection. Watch Kaj Zackrisson, Cody Townsend, and Elyse Saugstad narrowly escape with their lives, then regain their composure to challenge for the world title.
Quite possibly the quietest skier of all time, Charles Gagnier prefers to let his skiing do the talking. For the first time, Charles opens up and tells about his ski racing roots, the trip that launched his pro career, what scares him, and whether or not Simon Dumont and Tanner Hall are good the sport.
Simon Dumont checks in with the story of his time down in New Zealand a few weeks ago. This video is good look into the beginning of the road to the X Games. Simon’s friend, and superpipe rival Tanner Hall, shows up throwing down some doubles in the pipe and Simon throws down as well. Crashes all around show that these guys are mortal, but nonetheless they still cart around a pair bigger than the average skier. Enjoy the video…
Check it out. Salomon FreeSki TV is back for the 2008-2009 season. Subscribe to the Salomon Ski Podcast or just check back at Skier’s Realm for video updates as soon as they are released. Although the first video is just a teaser I think we will be surprised at the amount of enthusiasm Salomon has for FreeSki TV. Give those guys and gals cameras and lets rock. Enjoy the first video for now.
Wow, just a shade under a decade.SalomonFreeski.com is finally open for business. Salomon launches with a new look for 2009 and we like it. The site navigation seems to be easy to use and hopefully all of the links will work soon. Sounds like we will get some new podcasts soon as well.
Reports are coming in that snow is starting to come down near Whistler BC, Alta Utah, and Mt. Bachelor Oregon. With cooler than normal temps this fall it looks like September and October might be a hikers dream. Pictures courtesy of Salomon Ski’s Mike Douglas located a couple hours away from Whistler BC this week. One question for Mike Douglas as he got in some solid skiing this week, Salomon Czar’s or Salomon Guns?
UPDATE: Just received an updated image of Utah Snow from AHoltPhoto.com.
Sure we at Skiers Realm would prefer to see these skis in all their glory up on SalomonFreeski.com but for now we will have to settle on SalomonSports.com. This does mean that the new site is probably in the works. The 2009 Salomon line up looks great with lots of diversity. (more…)
Sammy Carlson took first place at the 2008 Jon Olsson Super Sessions this year with the help of his videographer Dominique Janiszewsi and his photographer Nate Abbot.
The features were by far some of the biggest ever seen by the Freeskiing community. The transitions and landings were pure perfection as each one was both designed and hand shaped by the flying Swede himself. No other competition in the world could match the amount of talent seen at the JOSS.
Sammy was proud to show off his new 2009 Salomon Suspect Skis. Looks like the Salomon Suspects will be the ski of choice for the some of the Salomon Newschoolers.
The Suspect Skis are made for the park and pipe with a new wood core and a brand new edge design. Riders will not fear rails and boxes any longer with Salomon’s new edge armor providing longer lasting durability. The semi wide 86mm waist width will keep you balanced on rails and provide plenty of pop.
