PK Hunder does it again. This year has started off well for the 20 year old Norwegian. PK came onto the scene a couple years ago at the Jon Olsson Super Sessions. He went, did his thing and dominated against some of the biggest names in the business. Jon Olsson took second with his double flip. This year is no different. Hunder already took over the London Freeze earlier this season. PK’s style reflects his personality and his ability to spin on a dime will have him on the podium the rest of the season. Check out his steezed out 1260 in the video. Not to shabby. Jon Olsson also showed a little face time in his video as well.
(Redbullskiing.com) Double flips are dominating the city-jump season, so it’s no big surprise to see innovator Jon Olsson up on the podium at the Stockholm King of Style event. Jon took second place and proceeded to reenact the gasoline fight scene from Zoolander with Red Bull teammate Simon Dumont. Check out the Jon Olsson Videoblog!
Red Bull Ski Teamers Shane McConkey and Sean Pettit appeared yesterday on the Today Show, pumping up the New York premier of Matchstick Production’s new movie, “Claim.” Check it out!
That Shane sure is good on TV. The youngster Sean Pettit seems to be a little more nervous. At least they get to talk about their lives as professional skiers being XTreme all day long. I’m just stoked they are getting the exposure on national TV.
As if a cover wasn’t enough, Freeskier Mag threw a party for Simon Dumont celebrating his insane feat of breaking the world record for height off a quarterpipe.
After all, it’s not everyday you meet someone with a legit world record. Simon boosted 35.5 feet above the lip of the quarterpipe, throwing in a 900 with a tail grab. Are you kidding me? The record was previously held by snowboard legend, Terje who claimed 32 feet and a backside 360 method in 2007.  Prior that, the record was held by Heikki Sorsa. Congrats on a World Record Simon and thanks to Freeskier for the support!
A few weeks ago we ran a “Ask Tanner a Question, Win a T-shirt” contest. It took a bit, but we finally caught up with him post New Zealand and post premiere tour. Shot in the kitchen of his palatial Park City estate, Tanner gets on the Straight Talk Express. Look out JM!
We are stoked that Red Bull gave us another edit of Mr. Dumont killing it in New Zealand. One question for Simon, why not ride the 2009 Salomon Dumont Skis? Sounds like Jon needed to have a little work done on his knee before the 2009 season started up. From what we can tell the surgery went well and he is able to start a little rehab to strengthen up his injured knee. We totally think all of the RedBull Jon drinks is giving him some sort of Super Human Powers to heal. Maybe that is what Lance Armstrong was on during the 7 tour wins? Good luck Jon and heel up fast so we will hopefully see you at the 2008 IcerAir.
Simon Dumont checks in with the story of his time down in New Zealand a few weeks ago. This video is good look into the beginning of the road to the X Games. Simon’s friend, and superpipe rival Tanner Hall, shows up throwing down some doubles in the pipe and Simon throws down as well. Crashes all around show that these guys are mortal, but nonetheless they still cart around a pair bigger than the average skier. Enjoy the video…
There’s no doubt Boulder, CO is a town that is at the core of ski culture in the US, so what better place to drop one of the sickest ski movies of all time? As expected, Tanner’s fans came out in droves to take in the first showing ever of his new film. Red Bull and Vodka flowed all night long and copious amounts of swag were dispensed by Tanner and the Red Bull crew. Everyone left the venue with stickers, posters, T-shirts, bandanas, and the latest issue of Powder Magazine. Tanner Hall, on his Armada Pipe Cleaner Skis,feels the pressure from his fellow pipe competitors and gets his ass around twice in the pipe. New Zealand is the perfect training ground for T-Hall to dial in the tricks he picks up in the off season at the SLC Olympic training facility. The Winter X-Games will be here before we know it.
