Red Bull Linecatcher 2010 – Vars, France

Posted on January 14th, 2010 in events, general by Spencer

The Red Bull Linecatcher event in Vars, France was quite amazing this year. The new competition format catered to the style of free skiing’s top athletes. For the past couple of years it seems more and more pros are leaving the terrain park for natural hits in the back country. The course in Vars had a big mountain feel with select takeoffs throughout giving everyone the freedom to choose a line and hit huge transfers. Frenchman Candide Thovex took 1st by sticking his final run, K2 Ski’s Sean Pettit placed 2nd but maybe should have been a little higher with his mind blowing run, and CR Johnson rounded out the podium with the bronze. Posted on December 4th, 2008 in general by Spencer

Dude, if I won a trip to the Baldface Cat skiing resort in BC with my favorite Armada Pro I would air guitar the hell out of my new skis. Congrats to the lucky bastard, Darren Pedersen, of Vernon, BC. Sounds like he will be pushing some pow with Anthony and JP. Hopefully he can keep up because it should have been me or you. Well I guess there is always next year. Keep it up Armada Skis, you are driving the industry.

JP Auclair and Julien Regnier’s Armada JJ Skis Redesigned

Posted on September 4th, 2008 in general by Spencer

JP Auclair and Julien Regnier didn’t simply redesign their signature ski—they revolutionized it. Featuring our patent pending Elf Shoe Tech, the JJ takes powder-specific concepts like rocker and variable sidecut and applies them to what might be the first true all-mountain powder ski. While the JJ’s considerable width and extended tip and tail profile ensure flotation in bottomless powder and slabby windcrust alike, the unprecedented “ski-within-a-ski” sidecut and camber underfoot provides real carvability on firmer snow. Such a unique design requires unique construction, provided seamlessly by the AR Fifty Sidewall. JP and Julien are credited for having irrevocably changed skiing. Now, they’ve irrevocably changed skis, too.
