Sean Pettit Wins 2011 Red Bull Linecatcher

Posted on January 17th, 2011 in Events by Spencer

Sean Pettit throws down at the 2011 Red Bull Linecatcher competition in Vars, France. The young Canadian never lost his top spot in the field but that did not stop Italy’s Markus Eder or Bend Oregon’s Tim Durtschi from gunning for him (we do not promote skier on skier violence) throughout the competition. While most skiers were taking the first run easy Pettit and Durtschi stepped on the gas. Skiersrealm will post video footage when it is available so check back soon.

Jon Olsson’s 2011 JOI and JOSS Changes Announced

Posted on December 3rd, 2010 in Events by Spencer

The JOI and JOSS are not just about Lamborghini’s and partying with Swedish chicks. They are not about “My Friend Is A Pro” ring tones and they are never about Tom Wallisch playing god. They are all about skiing. Well maybe it used to be that way when Sammy Carlson won the event. I fear it is not that cut and dry anymore and it looks like Jon agrees. Let’s be honest. The past couple years have been a circus but that is all going to change. We are pleased to announce a new format for the 2011 Jon Olsson Invitational. Unfortunately the Jon Olsson Super Sessions will not be happening but Jon promises it will be bigger and better than ever when it returns. So… Who else out there is ready to see some triple corks? You know the boys are going to throw down.

Tanner Hall Winner of 7 XBox Games? Check Out The Interview

Posted on November 22nd, 2010 in Skiers by Spencer

I got so excited this morning when I heard Tanner Hall was going to be doing an interview to promote his new documentary, “Like A Lion“. Little did I know that the guy giving the interview would be teleprompted some crazy, crazy stuff. First Tanner is the worlds best Free Skater what ever that means. Then… he says THall has won seven XBox games. With the amount of down time Tanner has had in the past year we know he has beat way more XBox games than that. I would believe it is safe that he is in the teens when it comes to games destroyed. Get your facts straight dog.

Red Bull Linecatcher 2010 – Vars, France

Posted on January 14th, 2010 in Events, General by Spencer

The Red Bull Linecatcher event in Vars, France was quite amazing this year. The new competition format catered to the style of free skiing’s top athletes. For the past couple of years it seems more and more pros are leaving the terrain park for natural hits in the back country. The course in Vars had a big mountain feel with select takeoffs throughout giving everyone the freedom to choose a line and hit huge transfers. Frenchman Candide Thovex took 1st by sticking his final run, K2 Ski’s Sean Pettit placed 2nd but maybe should have been a little higher with his mind blowing run, and CR Johnson rounded out the podium with the bronze. Jon Olsson Wears Tall T At Freestyle.ch

Posted on October 1st, 2009 in General, Skiers by Spencer

Redbull and Head Skis brought their newest hyphy athlete to Zurich last weekend. Jon Olsson sported himself a tall t. Maybe it was too warm for the Swede to sport a normal sized shirt, but we think he is trying to fit in with the youngsters. The good news is that we found some Head JO Pros On Sale at Backcountry.com. Perfect time to get a pair before they go up in price. Please, do it for the ladies.
