Ready or not here comes the cold. If you’ve been checking the reports lately then it’s no surprise to you but if not then this is your heads up. Winter is in full swing. We’ve had a little taste of the cold stuff so far but now the rumors are that La Nina will consistently be sending storms our way for December. And if that doesn’t happen then I’ll just throw out the standard, “well it’s the Northwest, weather changes every 5 minutes.”

The Mt Hood Meadows terrain parks web site will be rocking a new and functional design this season. Meadows has calibrated with North Pole Design to create an interactive site giving riders up to date placement of features in all five parks. As a park grows and new features are added, so will the web site.

Mt. Bachelor and Mt. Hood Meadows have both received snow this week. The weather man says that the temps are supposed to stay cold and more precipitation is on the way through the end of this week. With this global warming climate change comes new weather patterns. Maybe Oregon will become the early season ski epicenter for North America? Only time will tell but I am not going to complain if I am making turns on Thanksgiving Day 2009.
