CloseRossi S7, K2 ObSETHed or Armada JJ, THAT is the question!
Posted on November 3rd, 2010 in Gear, General by Jason
Three years ago I was lucky enough to find myself in possession of a pair of K2′s Limited Edition PBR Brewskis. Originally I didn’t plan on mounting them, instead they were going to grace the wall above my wax bench due to their rarity. I eventually decided a ski that unique deserved to be ridden, and for the last three years they’ve been my boards of choice on most days.
Things have changed in the last couple of seasons though, with all of the kids talking about rocker this and rocker that, so I’ve slowly come to the decision to retire the Brewskis to the shop, and that means I need to replace them with something equally versatile. Fortunately I’ve got a few specialized tools in my quiver, including some Pontoons for deep days, old and Salomon Gun’s for park days. That means the ski I replace the PBRs with needs to be versatile enough to ski pretty much anywhere, but more than anything it needs to be well rounded (and like I mentioned, it’s gotta have rocker).
Based on my above criteria I’ve narrowed my choices down to Armada’s JJ, K2′s ObSETHed or Rossignol’s S7 all of which are rockered at the tip and tail with camber under foot for cat tracks, traverses and harder days. Also, all three of these skis get rave reviews from pretty much everyone that skis them.
Read on for more comparison between these three sticks, and if you have some input on which one I should ski this year sound of in the comments.

On March 26, 2009, ski legend Shane McConkey died in a ski BASE jumping accident in the Italian Dolomites. In countless ways, McConkey defined skiing as a lifestyle and by pushing the boundaries of the sport. Shane was a member of the K2 Skis team and was a creative thinker who challenged conventional wisdom in ski design. K2 Hood House Part Tres, Senor Todd Bracher Wakesurfs
Posted on July 16th, 2009 in General by SpencerTodd Bracher doesn’t need a board to wake surf. In fact he prefers to ride his wave’s “Hungarian style”. The water in the Willamette River is not the cleanest and the amount of water that a rider inhales while trying to perform barrel roles “Hungarian style” is about one gallon an hour. Come to think of it, probably not a good choice of surf styles. Todd went home with the green apple two step. Not conducive to house keeping. We wish him the best and hope that the Sears catalog in the crapper will keep him occupied while his legs fall asleep and his stomach starts to eat the rest of his other organs. On a side note Gutt and Reggie tore up the water on a board. Stoked to see them out on the boat. Thanks to Active Water Sports
for the use of a wonderful MB Tomcat and to WakeMakers for making the wake redicously huge.

K2 Hood House Part Deux
Posted on July 10th, 2009 in General by Spencer
(Words By Todd) We were beginning to wonder if summer would arrive on Mt. Hood. After countless June evenings building fires to dry our boots and clothes we wanted the rain to stop and sun to begin. The change in weather would also help the snow, freezing at night and thawing during the day would make for perfect conditions.
K2 Hood House Open For Business
Posted on July 10th, 2009 in General by SpencerIf my name was Todd Bracher I would move to Government Camp for the summer and ski everyday. Since I would only be able to ski in the mornings, it would only be natural to follow my heart and publish the days events on some sort of new media outlet. I would feel responsible to K2, and the world to express why the K2 Hood House is so awesome and such a great use of funds in these hard economic times.
Well, my name is Spencer not Todd so I can only imagine what it must be like to live the life of T-Money Bracher. I guess we will read the words from this master of disaster and live through him not with him.
