The Jon Olsson Invitational is here. The triple cork 1440 is here. The sport of skiing is getting rediculous….JOI!

The 2012 Tanner Hall POC helmet is black with rasta highlights, the Jon Olsson helmet has a low profile design and the TJ Schiller helmet is clean. That is why we don’t blame POC when they told us that they didn’t change them from last year. Over all we are stoked.

The JOI and JOSS are not just about Lamborghini’s and partying with Swedish chicks. They are not about “My Friend Is A Pro” ring tones and they are never about Tom Wallisch playing god. They are all about skiing. Well maybe it used to be that way when Sammy Carlson won the event. I fear it is not that cut and dry anymore and it looks like Jon agrees. Let’s be honest. The past couple years have been a circus but that is all going to change. We are pleased to announce a new format for the 2011 Jon Olsson Invitational. Unfortunately the Jon Olsson Super Sessions will not be happening but Jon promises it will be bigger and better than ever when it returns. So… Who else out there is ready to see some triple corks? You know the boys are going to throw down.

DON’T TRUST ME… READ WHAT JON HAS TO SAY

The 2010 Freestyle.ch has come and gone and the 2010/2011 season is right around the bend. I was just starting to enjoy my summer here in Oregon, but I guess it is time to get my skis mounted and waxed (We have to wax in Oregon because the snow has little baby arms that grab you). The Freestyle.ch gives me the chance to speculate who made it up to Hood and Blackcomb in the off season. You can tell by an athlete’s demeanor and style.

The toughest competitor on the ramp this year was moister, dripping off the limited edition goggles warn by skiing’s elite athletes. After checking out the videos from the event I could not determine a clear winner. I will tell you one thing… I can’t watch anymore double corks. I am sorry but Sammy Carlson made it boring when he landed a triple at Mt Hood during the filming of the new TGR film. The FreeStyle.ch was everything we expected from the action sports festival. Henrik Harlaut, Elias Ambühl, Andreas Håtveit, and PK Hunder held it down. I truly didn’t expect a Euro sweep of the podium but the Americans did hold it down for the other half of the top ten. GO USA

The 2010 Jon Olsson Super Sessions have began in Are’ Sweden. It is already day three and things are looking up, way up. As always the jumps are big and so is the supporting cast. Redbull and Head Skis brought their newest hyphy athlete to Zurich last weekend. Jon Olsson sported himself a tall t. Maybe it was too warm for the Swede to sport a normal sized shirt, but we think he is trying to fit in with the youngsters. The good news is that we found some Head JO Pros On Sale at Backcountry.com. Perfect time to get a pair before they go up in price. Please, do it for the ladies.

(FreeSkier.com) After a grueling two weeks in Norway and Sweden, the Jon Olsson Super Sessions has come to an end. After a beautiful presentation filled with awards, auctions, slideshows and last but not least, the seven video edits from the teams here at the JOSS. Some videos went for funny, some went for ski porn action, but in the end, ALL of the edits were amazing, well put together, thought out and executed perfectly. We knew Jon was having a little trouble securing the resort and sponsors needed to host the JOSS. He has been stressing out the past couple weeks but with that said he can now rest a little easier. SkiersRealm is so stoked to see that it is going to happen. With the economy the way it is to not have a riders event like the JOSS and JOI would be a travesty.
