I was able to chat with Sam Schwartz and crew about their epic 2010 – 2011 season in Jackson Hole. Believe it or not, the majority of skiers in this edit are under the age of 16. You wouldn’t know it from the way they charge down the mountain. Most of the kids on NewSchoolers.com can only dream of attending high school in such a place. This crew is living the dream. The opportunity to choose between Teton Pass, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, or Grand Targhee Resort is mind blowing to me. The learning curve for backcountry and sidecountry skiing in that area is steep. Yet another benefit to growing up in such a prime location.

2011 is going to start with a bang. Team Fardrift has big plans for filming this season. They have made the commitment to release a new webisode at the beginning of each month starting December 1st. The name of the project is, “Powder Minors”. The cinematographers in the group just got their hands on a pair of the coveted Canon 7d cameras. The ability to capture 1080p HD footage with the preciseness of a zoom lens will put these webisodes on par with the big boys. Mix this with a few GoPro POV shots and these guys are going to be right front and center. They might even have enough footage for a full length film. Keep your eye out for these up and comers. I know we will.
