The awesome folks at Skiingthebackcountry.com and their loyal followers have reached their first ever Track Your Vert goal of 1,000,000 vertical feet. Actually they blew through it and in no time at all. The first of hopefully many Track Your Vert events was sponsored by Clip skins and “unlocked” a $500 donation which will go to the American Institute for Avalanche Research &¬†Education. I’ll take personal credit for single handedly helping push the vert up and over the mark with my two monsterous climbs up the Cinder Cone @ Mt. Bachelor. Please, hold your applause, really it was nothing. All joking aside, this is an awesome concept that gets people up off the couch to enjoy the outdoors and helps raise cash for charity at the same time. In my book, that’s pretty awesome. Great job and Congrats to everyone at Skiingthebackcountry.com and to all those who logged vert!
