(By John Stifter | ESPN Action Sports) Dumont’s bell is rung, but not broken.Winter X Ski SuperPipe star Simon Dumont, 23, suffered a violent crash near the end of Tuesday morning’s SuperPipe practice. He hit the deck of the pipe with his ribs and head while trying to land a double flip. Dumont exploded off the deck and fell straight down to the ditch of the pipe, where he was immobile for a good 10 minutes before walking off the course.

We caught up with his agent, Michael Spencer, to update us on Simon’s status:

“Simon is planning on competing. He took a big crash and got checked out, rested today and is going to ease back into it throughout the weekend. He definitely plans on competing in three, if not four events.”

Dumont is entered in Friday’s Big Air, Saturday’s SuperPipe, and Sunday’s SuperPipe High Air. He is also an alternate in Saturday’s Slopestyle.
