After the 2007-2008 season everyone knew who Sean Pettit was. From magazine coverage to video parts, Sean chiseled his name into the wall of freeskiing. At the same time his older brother, Callum, was cut out of the once shared sponsorship deals and was forced to figure out what he could bring to the sport.
Last year when Sean was traveling, Callum stayed in the Whistler area to improve as a skier with the guidance of some of the best pros in the business. The hard charging season of focus and perseverance payed off. Tanner Hall put him on a pair of Armada skis that matched his style perfectly and invited both brothers to be a part of Red Bull’s “The Massive” video. Callum proved that he has a smooth style but is not afraid to ski the hardest most technical lines on the hill. He also showed that he has punched his time card in the park with his segment at Mt. Hood boosting huge airs on the “Massive” hip jump.
The 2008-2009 season will confirm that Callum Pettit is ready to step out of Sean’s shadow and prove that the Pettit family name is synonymous with back country freeskiing.
