2012 Lib Tech Pow NAS Ski Description
Designed and ridden by Mike Wison, Jamie Pierre and Freeskiing Champion Tim Dutton. A rocker entry reCURVE Magne-Traction pow shape that carves the hardpack and floats the pow.SkiersRealm Official Review: 2012 Lib Tech Pow NAS skis
The Lib Tech Pow NAS skis are something I've wanted to ride for a long time and just never had the opportunity to do so. That finally is no longer true. Being the only ski in the industry that utilizes anything like Lib Tech's Magnetraction edge technology, I really wasn't sure what to expect from the skis. I've heard both great reviews and also reviews that were just kinda middle of the road. Never anything bad though, so my expectations of the Lib Tech Pow NAS weren't unbiased but they were still very much un-decided.
One thing I was trying to focus on with the Lib Tech Pow NAS Skis was their edges. With Magnetraction being so different and also being the backbone of the NAS marketing plan, I really wanted to know if they made a difference in how they skied. And did it? My official answer to that is….maybe. Looking back, I'm not really sure what I expected from the unique edging of Lib's narrow ass snowboards but their tag line is "turns ice into powder" soooo. Anyway I will say this, without a doubt the skis Lib Tech Pow NAS held and edge and held it well in all types of snow. From hard pack (very ice-ish) to soft week old untracked pow, the Magnetraction seemed to do the job. Personally I think it was a combination of the skis shape, Magnetraction, and construction, but none-the-less they ripped in everything. Right away I noticed how much the Lib Tech Pow NAS wanted to play (read - they felt a bit loose), which was a concern for a bout two seconds as I was skating off the chair. However, as soon as I pointed them down hill there was no messing around. Honestly, it was like you could tell the skis were looking to have fun and were begging me to let them get after it. Starting off with some groomer action, I wanted to see what Lib Tech's Pow NAS was capable of. Here the shape of the ski really seemed to excel. For a 115mm underfoot ski, the Lib Tech Pow NAS was sure able to lay some serious tracks in the corduroy. From high to low speeds I felt stable and comfortable and like like I had the ability to cut both short and quick or long drawn out turns. That ended my groomer testing for Pow NAS, besides who wants to ski groomers anyway? So next run I headed to a zone that had just opened up for the season and I knew there would be some untracked snow still. This was where all the fun began for me and the Lib Tech Pow NAS skis. Slashes, butters, jibbing off whatever you please, and hitting jump after jump, it was like they couldn't get enough. I was able to charge through what chopped up snow I came across and stay in complete control. So much so that it literally made skiing in snow that I usually can't stand, a ton of fun. I know it sounds like I'm just hamming these things up, but honestly I couldn't get enough. I literally skied until my legs told me "no more". And when I returned them to the demo tent (the better part of the day later) all I could do when asked "well, what did you think?" was put a big shit eating grin on my face and laugh. "So rad!" I think was my official response. Yep, so rad indeed.
As far as downfalls go I really can't think of any that the Lib Tech Pow NAS have. Swing weight, agility, float, loved to charge, playful, stable…seriously, the Lib Tech Pow NAS is one of my favorite skis now. It's right up there with the Moment Bibby Pro's. I think I would need to have some kind of head-2-head battle before actually picking a winner between the two, but no question the Lib Tech Pow NAS are right up there at the top of the list.
2012 Lib Tech Pow NAS skis - Overall Impression:
Amazing ski! Very playful and stable in all conditions. Definitely recommend them!
Pros:
Very playful, poppy, agile and yet still very stable and can charge through anything. Loved to carve up the groomer and also outperformed my expectations in the chop and crud.
Cons:
Really nothing. These skis did exactly what I wanted them to and took very little time to get used to.

LOVE THESE SKIS! So stoked I went with the Lib Tech pow NAS over the JJ's. Hardly see them in the lift lines and always get compliments on them. Not to mention they are unreal in all conditions. All you need for your quiver.Overall Rating - Pumped on these skis! Reviewed by MoreSnowPlease on 12/20/11

Just got a pair and strapped them up with some Marker Griffon's and couldn't be more stoked on them! Can't say I've ever had more fun so immediately on a ski before. Definitely recommend them to anyone who wants an all-mountain ski that will kill it in the pow and still carve it up with ease on-piste!Overall Rating
